BAI Sponsors Student UAV Competition
EASTON, MD BAI Aerosystems proudly announces its sponsorship of the Third Annual Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) Student UAV Competition, being held on June 30 - July 3, 2005, at the Webster Field Annex of Naval Air Station in Patuxent River, MD.
BAI has sponsored the event since its inception, which has seen significant growth over the years. BAI joins the Program Executive Office for Strike Weapons and Unmanned Aviation, Johns Hopkins University - Applied Physics Lab, and other companies, in sponsoring the event.
Students will provide oral briefings on their system on July 1. The competition takes place July 2, with an awards banquet being held in the evening. July 3 is set as the rain-date. Fourteen teams will compete for a grand prize of $5,000. The second-place team will receive $3,500, and the third-place finisher wins $1,500. Schools represented are:
