BAI's
Evolution Back-packable UAV System now on GSA Schedule
EASTON,
MD - BAI Aerosystems, Inc. announced that it has been awarded
contract #GS-07F-5519R from the U.S. General Services Administration
(GSA) for inclusion in its Federal Supply Schedules Program. The
company's “Evolution”back-packable Unmanned Aerial Vehicle
(UAV) system will now be available to all GSA customers.
GSA's
Schedules Program establishes long-term government-wide contracts
with commercial firms who provide over four million state-of-the-art,
high quality products and services. Contracts are awarded to
responsible companies that offer commercial items falling within
the descriptions of the GSA Schedule's various solicitations.
“This
is an important breakthrough, both in terms of demonstrating the
maturity of small UAV technology, and from the standpoint of our
company's ability to provide support to its customers,” said
BAI President Dick Bernstein. BAI's growing U.S. Government
customer base now has unprecedented access to the benefits of small
UAVs we offer. Everything required to procure, operate, and
maintain the Evolution system is now on GSA Schedule.”
The
Evolution is BAI's smallest electric-powered UAV. Systems are
currently deployed with U.S. forces in support of real-world operations.
Included in GSA's offering are the Evolution air vehicle, a range
of specialized day and night payloads, a ground control station,
a remote video terminal, field support kit, field maintenance package,
batteries, transportation case, and system training.
