Avionics
and Autopilot
BAI
Aerosystems is a pioneer in the development of miniature Digital
Flight Control Systems (autopilots) for precision control of small
UAS. BAI has created it's GEN III autopilot with the needs
of the total UAS in mind. BAI's hardware offers numerous
interfaces to flight control components, payloads and datalinks
and has been carefully engineered to provide the maximum capability
with the least amount of power, space, and weight.
Using
an advanced architecture based on the proven Motorola 68332 processor,
BAI's Digital Flight Control System offer a degree of adaptability
and user-friendliness not found on more application specific designs.
Surface-mounted components and industry standard electronics packaging
techniques have been utilized to ensure rugged, professional hardware
made to survive in real-world operating environments. All software
used in BAI's autopilot has been programmed in ANSI "C" language,
providing a robust code with many user-programmable functions.
BAI's
has autopilot's suitable for many fixed-wing air vehicles; with
minor modifications to the hardware, repackaging for critical fit
applications is possible, as is re-programming of software features
to enable tailoring of control functions to meet each customer's
hardware requirements.
